Impact or Effect

Working with children first thing in the morning, it's easy to see how they are feeling and what their mood is like. They come in for breakfast, and I can tell if they are hungry (or not), sad, worried, happy or mad resulting from their home life, friends, or the people that are in their lives. The kids usually share with me what is going on, and why they are feeling the way they feel. I listen and sometimes I can give them advice; but mostly I listen and hope they know they are not alone and that they feel someone cares. From a greater extent, through what they share with me, I have learned that it's the smallest moments in life that have the biggest impact.

  1. Absolutely! And that is what parenting is all about.

  2. Oh I know Jose ~ I wish that I had known though to what "extent." I was so young, taking care of four children... I have a feeling a lot skated by me. Working with the children has allowed me to see the extent on the other side of the fence so to speak. I can only imagine how many times my own kids went to school with hurt feelings, worried, so on and so forth. I wish I could do it over again; I wish I knew what I know now.

    That's all ~

  3. You and those children are so fortunate to "be" in each others lives. Your influence will stay with them forever. Who knows, you just might be the one who helps them to be better parents.

As for our past "mistakes" in child-rearing, we do the best we can. It could have been worse. You probably did what Maryann and I did, "You gotta love them, and keep the faith." Those were the words that helped guide us.

They turned out very well. Each is following her own destiny. They do what they do, and so do we, to fulfill our life missions.

So, I commend you to continue to....

Serve with integrity, care about those you serve and share the love in your heart and soul.

  4. you my love come from a long line of strong wonderful mothers and one in particular would be so very proud of the mother you are!

    I know I am!!

    Love you
