I have always loved old churches and stopped to take some pictures of two on one of my recent trips to Monterey that I have admired for some time now. The churches below are in a little town called Pacific Grove.
This is the Pacific Grove
Heritage House
St. Mary's
By the Sea
built in 1887
I do not have any information on this church, but I love how it resembles a castle.
May peace be with you
what beautiful photos of these churches and may peace be with you and your family always
ReplyDeleteLove you
So Kuul, As the kids would say! Great window pictures!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful! Our brother lives on towne square in a teeny tiny town, a block each way is a church, and they all have chimes, it is so awesome to go there and from his porch see stained glass in every direction and hear the melodic sounds in the wind......Beautiful!
ReplyDeleteThat castle-ish one looks like an Anglican church. Our church looks like that...churches in England look like that! (I've seen my mum's piccies.)
ReplyDeleteThanks for showing us, it's like being able to walk through town with you Angela!

Hi Angela, Churches are among my favorite places to visit. I always manage to find one when I'm in a new place.
ReplyDeleteI've always loved to look at old churches -- thanks.
ReplyDeleteLovely Angela. Like Gill says the one looks Anglican. Church architecture has always interested me, and I love to photograph them too.
ReplyDeleteI love old churches...I grew up on the East coast....and there are lots of old red brick churches...something you don't see out West too often...great photos.
ReplyDeleteYes, I also love old churches. Like ours...! But these are truly old.. I will look for them the next time we are in that area. Love Pacific Grove too.
ReplyDeleteThese are wonderful pictures, love the windows. They say so much.
You will have to come and look around some of our English churches, I'm sure you would enjoy them. Our local parish church is on a hill and I had the chance to go to the top of the tower. Great views, but my fingernail marks are probably still up there, it seemed awfully high and the parapet was way too low for my liking, it was all I could do to stand there gripping the stonework for dear life!
ReplyDeleteI love churches that look like churches. As much as I love my own church, I am missing the actual church building. We meet in a school for the time being. And many independent churches down here meet in store front buildings. I find that just odd. But I guess I'm getting a lesson about books and covers, eh?
ReplyDeleteLove your photos.
Yes, and also with you!
ReplyDeleteVery nice photos! thanks for sharing.
I just love old churches, they have such character, such grace. Thank you for sharing your beautiful photo's with us. Such peace.
ReplyDeleteA red church that is straight from the heart, isn't it?!
ReplyDeleteI love old churches. My one and only trip to the east coast was filled with many a church visiting all up and down the eastern seaboard. I loved the history that spoke to me from the moment I set eyes on a new one to the peace of the inner sanctuaries. It's why I'm dying to go to Europe...
ReplyDeleteLove these buildings. I'm planning a trip up the coast next month and might stop by Pacific Grove and see them in person...
Oh..these are gorgeous. I love old churches too. I use to go to a Catholic School where there was an old roman catholic church we attended every morning. This was in a small midwest town...
ReplyDeleteenjoyed the pics.
