Down Up Down... Up
It all started with me getting tired of waiting for the elevator to travel from the first floor, up five floors and then stop for anyone getting on or off a different floor. I decided to start taking the stairs every time Charlie wanted something. As I was taking the stairs, I noticed how out of shape and out of breath I had become. I haven't been able to take my daily walks or go to my swim class lately and I feel it is starting to get to me physically, as well as emotionally. I really enjoyed my exercise routine I had going and I felt it had not only helped me to relieve stress but it also helped me with my depression. Taking the stairs makes me feel like I have some control in my life!
I have noticed the Doctors also take the stairs... it is good to see that they are practicing what they preach.
*note ~ I had to giggle... when I was leaving the hospital, I noticed a security guard watching a screen with multiple windows showing every room of the hospital and one of the windows were of the stairs. It occured to me that he might have seen me taking pictures of the stairs. LOL! The security guard must have thought, 'What is that lady doing? CrAzY!'

Great pics.
ReplyDeleteMy aren't those stairways dull? chuckle
Maybe they are that way so that people will pick up the pace.
Hopefully the guard did notice.
Our best to you both.
I had to laugh, too!
ReplyDeleteYou are a crazy women ;-)
No, I think it is good that you take the stairs. A good idea to try to stay in shape.
you're in better shape than me!!
ReplyDeleteOh Angela ~~ that was such a reminder ~~ You are doing so good to take those stairs. When Jill was in the hospital for those many many months, I did the same ~~ she was on the 4th floor and I took the stairs~~
ReplyDeleteGood for You!
good for you at least you are getting some exercise by doing that
ReplyDeleteI know what you mean I have been out of my walking routine for to long that I am completely out of shape I need to get back into it.

sending hugs and love to you both
Ha! I bet you made the security guard's day :-)
ReplyDeleteHa thats a funny thought about the security Gaurd. I hate taking the stairs here at work especially after a good workout at the gym the night before.
ReplyDeleteJust wanted you to know that I am thinking and praying often for you and charlie. I know about hospital stairs and yes it is mostly the staff that use them and I agree with Jack those are abou the dullest stairs I have ever seen in a hospital and I have seen my share.

ReplyDeleteIt is difficult when we are faced with uncertainty and exercise unfortunately is always one of the first things to go.
Stay strong ... there are lots of folks praying and be sure to take care of yourself as well.
Hugs,
Cindie
i know this dance as well my friend. light and love and peace to you and your loved ones.
ReplyDeletePhysical exercise is good for your body, to re-energize and to help calm the mental exercise that you are always going through.
ReplyDeleteCharlie is being cared for on many levels. I am so happy that you are staying strong for him, your children and yourself. Please continue to lean on us whenever you need some extra strength.

I read Darlene's kind post about a friend she obviously loves deeply and I wanted to visit and send my best wishes to your family. take care.
ReplyDeleteAngela, I have been following your blog for almost a year after following your link from Wanda's blog. Since you first posted the news about Charlie, each morning when I click on your blog I say a small prayer asking God to bless your family with peace, strength and healing as you watch your husband and children's father fight the C monster. While I probably will not be a regular poster I just wanted to let you know that there are others (even strangers like me) who are praying for you.
ReplyDeleteI head a stat recently that Americans are caught on security cameras as much as 200 times a day.
ReplyDeleteBlessings to you and Charlie.
I am pleased to follow Darlene's instructions to come visit and provide support.
ReplyDeleteYou know that you have a lot of folks in your corner and that you will make it through this life's challenge.
You and Charlie are not alone.
We love you both very much and send more positive energy your way.
Any exercise is good. That is my motto. Here it is spring when most find it easy to keep in shape. Not me. going out in the weather is just hard on my constituion with allergies. So, I haven't been hitting the rec center as much as I should. Bless you Angela for reminding me. I'm steadily praying each day and often multiple times many days for both you and Charlie. You are as close as my thoughts which are good and filled with love for you both!
ReplyDeletePraying for continued grace and peace to sustain you!
ReplyDeleteI have a candle on my desk, at work, and it is lit for you and your family. You are not alone, but you know that!
ReplyDeleteHi my dear friend
