Lady Autumn

Diandra ~ Halloween 06

Lady Autumn, Queen of the Harvest,
I have seen You in the setting Sun
with Your long auburn tresses
blowing in the cool air that surrounds You.
Your crown of golden leaves is jeweled
with amber, amethyst, and rubies.
Your long, flowing purple robe stretches across the horizon.
In Your hands You hold the ripened fruits.
At Your feet the squirrels gather acorns.
Black crows perch on Your outstretched arms.
All around You the leaves are falling.
You sit upon Your throne and watch
the dying fires of the setting Sun
shine forth its final colors in the sky.
The purple and orange lingers
and glows like burning embers.
Then all colors fade into the twilight.
Lady Autumn, You are here at last.
We thank You for Your rewards.
We have worked hard for these gifts.
Lady Autumn, now grant us peace and rest.

  1. Is that not the prettiest Tinkerbell you've ever seen? She is a living doll, so photogenic.

    I loved the poem too.

    Love you all.

  2. Oh, and Thank you so much for the pictures! ;-)

  3. WOW! I'd never knew tree nymphs were so attractive!

  4. Did Diandra also do a ballet in this costume? So adorable! I think I felt the magic dust.....:)

  5. How awesome my niece looks to cute!
I agree with Jeanne she is so photogenic!

    Love ya

  6. The pictures and the poem are beautiful...

I love the atmosphere of autumn you create - even though we're in the height of spring over here - i can feel the tenderness, the romance of autumn in this lovely post.

    With love, M

  7. Wanda ~ No, she did not dance in this costume... Diandra came to me and wanted "MOM" to make it. IT took me two whole days to make it, taking a LOT breaks of course. I actually had fun creating it. She is going to be a Leopard this year.

If you think it looks like a "costume she danced in" I will take that as a compliment.

Darlene and I want Diandra to get in this and go to Murphys with all of the other Artsy people, we told her she would make some money... we would have fun any ways.

  8. Wow! That is a great costume! I am in awe that you can make something like that!
    Great photos, too. Beautiful 'girl'.

  9. tinkerbell

I can't wait to see her for Christmas!

    big hugs,
