Silver & Gold

Silver & Gold ornaments

I have been decorating this tree for a week now it seems. As I unwrap the ornaments so delicately from the tissue and arrange each of the ornaments in groups of colors, I am thinking to myself, 'When and how did I get like this?' There has always been logic to why I think like this. I will put all of my plain silver and gold ball ornaments to the center of the tree trunk. Doing this makes these balls reflect the lights and make my Christmas tree glow even more. Then I take all of my purple ornaments and place them within a distance from each other so that I don't have a bunch of purples in one place. I continue doing that with each color until they are all on the tree. It is now coming together. I am even humming Christmas tunes.

How do you decorate your tree?

  1. Oh I'm so sad to say..."Silver and Gold, have I none". I don't have a live tree to decorate. I stop doing that because we spend Christmas in LA. I do have three Forest type trees I put in my country kitchen with white lights.
I can't wait to come and see your tree Angela..it sounds so elegant!!

  2. Well, I hate to disillusion you, but I pull my little tree out of the box, fluff it out, toss on the top and six ornament and it is finished. I just don't spend a lot of time on decorating. I love seeing what everyone else does, but that isn't what I do. Am I going to be whipped and then lashed to the mast?

  3. You've got some patience.
I'm currently working on a new invention...'The Christmas decoration cannon'. Simply load the hopper with baubles, tinsel, sweets and other Christmas paraphernalia. Stand clear! Take aim, squeeze the trigger....BLAM! Instant decorations. Use it around the home, on the tree, even outside. Once I've perfected it and sorted out the slight scorching problem I'll send you one....
