Sail away from the safe harbor ~

Trying to pass the time, waiting for the Maytag repair man who had a window to show up between 1:00 - 5:00 p.m. to come and fix my washing machine . I picked up a little book someone gave me years ago called P.S. I Love You. Flipping through the pages, I came across something that seemed so appropriate for me at this time in my life.
Twenty years from now you will be more disappointed by the things you didn't do than by the ones you did do. So throw off the bowlines. Sail away from the safe harbor. Catch the trade winds in your sails. Explore. Dream. Discover.
Twenty years from now, should I live that many more. I would be 62. I do not want to live with disappointments or regrets. I want to Explore. Dream. Discover. BUT first, I have to throw off the bowlines that keep me safe in this harbor.

  2. It's a wonderful thing to "Throw off the bowlines..." If you embrace your life with a certain amount of zeal, then everything can become an adventure...
The color of a flower, the sound of laughter, the touch of the sun's beams on your face...can all be like tiny adventures...
    Thank you for visiting Shadowlight...
    You are always welcome...
    Have a Beautiful day!

I hate to hear of anyone's husband, son, brother, sister, mother, ect. going over there!Let's expect a miracle together!!!Angela! My son was in the Army 9/11 over in Korea! He's out of the Army now but if they start drafting, I have a 23 year old son!

  7. Hey Angela, you have been posting!
    I kept checking...
This is so true. I regret things undone much more so than things done.
Whats done is done. But what's undone, sometimes can never happen again!

    Vive embracing life!

  9. I like that quotation, Angela. It takes a certain amount of courage, I think, to step outside our everyday lives and do something we have always dreamed of doing...but never quite got around to. But if not now, when? It's so easy to let day after day drift by, thinking that you'll get around to that "one of these days." I don't think we should ever put off living!

Even if we can't, for whatever reasons, be living our dream in a particular moment, we can be grateful for where we are and pay attention to the beauty and adventure in what is surrounding us...and that in itself makes life a dream. :-)
